Hi all

New to this......I purchased a Mini F56 two weeks ago - private sale. 65 plate. 3rd owner. Underneath the boot lid, on the driver side door frame and underneath the bonnet there are 3 labels indicating that the car is covered by a Mini TLC pack (see photos). However, I have enquired with Mini customer services UK to confirm the arrangements for the first service due and they have stated that the car is not covered by the TLC pack, and that quote:

'I can advise you our Centres do not use these labels or place them inside their vehicles. As this hasn’t been done at a MINI Centre, I’m unable to advise you where these stickers were purchased and applied'.

The labels clearly look official and I cannot see how these could have been sourced and placed on the vehicle from anywhere except an official Mini centre. Can anybody suggest or advise what I should do? I am now literally faced with hundreds of pounds worth of servicing....

Any help appreciated
Simon

Never seen a sticker like that, maybe something the supplying dealer put on the car.

Never seen one either. I'd pop into a dealer and ask for the service history printout for your car, and what is still outstanding on the TLC.

Be aware though that they don't always know the first time - our 63 plate R56 wanted a vehicle inspection done, which they initially said wasn't covered under the TLC but then changed their mind and said it was

Hi - thanks for replies so far. They are saying it does not have a TLC pack at all despite these labels on the car........For me, it looks like they were placed on the car when it was first registered. They are denying this. I have not seen them anywhere else - e.g. on internet etc - so they certainly look official. I obviously bought on basis it was covered given these labels.....surely they should not have been placed on the car if it wasn't covered - this is what I am trying to prove (but looking like to no avail....frown

I used to work in a MINI dealer and I can say for certainty that they didn't exist in my time there.

Perhaps they were put on by an unscrupulous seller? If MINI say it doesn't have TLC then it doesn't have TLC. It has to be purchased/ added to the vehicle spec rather than it being on every car. Was it a fleet car at some point? Perhaps they don't add it for fleet cars?????

You can check on-line if the car has tlc using the reg. number. https://www.mini.co.uk/en_GB/home/services/service...

Like others, I have never seen those stickers on any MINI I've owned or indeed any in a dealers, whether new or second hand.

Contact the supplying dealer and ask them if they applied the stickers to the car. Possibly they have supplied their own service package when the car was bought.
