Interested in a post 2010 cooper s....

Are the official MPG figures too good to be true?

What realistically could I expect?

mine was averaging 38mpg over a 14 mile each way trip to work, that was a mixture of 30/70 and 10 mins of traffic.

I'm now covering 1 mile each way and i'm getting 340 to a tank which is around 48 litres in the clubman

We've had our 2010 LCI Cooper S automatic for 3 1/2 years now.

I find the quoted figures to be pretty accurate. At 70 on the motorway it'll show an indicated 45/6. Overall it's showing 39 mpg, which is more urban than motorway driving.

Missus drives 25 miles each way to work, and the OBC is showing 46mpg, which I think is astounding. She doesn't drive slowly either

2011 LCI MCS Auto -drive it with the sport button pressed and gearbox in sport mode all the time - around town 30mpg on a run 38-45mpg. Great little fun car - try and find one with the highest spec you can - there are some mega spec cars out there. Avoid a pan roof - had two leaking in the past this time went for one without and much happier smile

N18 engined 2010 manual MCS. I think I'm averaging close to 40 mpg - only really gets used on the weekend, about 50:50 motorway (80-100 leptons) and town. Really impressed given the performance and how much it gets used vs. overall mpg figure. I do fill up with Tesco 99 as it's only a couple of pennies more than regular unleaded, no idea if that has effect on mpg.

Im amazed at how good they are - mid 30s here but hilly town driving mainly.
