UniRoyal RainSport 3
Discussion
Hello all,
Has anyone got any experience of the RainSport 3's on their MINI (I have a R56 Cooper S)
I am trying to weigh up whether to go for a set of those at £91.00 each, or a set pf Michellin PS4's / Pirelli P Zero's at closer to £115 each, or the goodyear F1 A3's which split the difference at £103 each.
Opinions / experiences welcome

I had them on my R53, in 205/55/16.
The sidewalls are a bit soft, and I got about 5k out of them before swapping the fronts to back etc.
They are super cheap in that size though, just over half of what you've quoted for what I assume are 17s.
I'd be going for the Michelin's if they did them in my size, ended up with RE002s this time, 50 profile, and are much stiffer walled.

Thanks all, one of my concerns was tyre life, but if you are getting that much out of them steve-5snwi, then it might be a good bet. That will be significantly more than i will get out of the Pirelli's on there currently.
Its definitely a useful saving to make, around £100 over a set of 4 tyres!
Anyone else got any experiences of how quickly they wear?

I think choosing between premium tyres its personal preference , I personally am a massive fan of uniroyal RS3's , I know Michelins are widely regarded as the best in Bike , Porsche and Bmw forums etc, but I just do not like the driving feel of Michelin tyre products, in fact on Bikes I definitely prefer every other mainstream tyre Pirelli Dunlop Continental more than Michelin by the way don't like Bridgestones either. That's not to say they are not excellent tyres,
So I guess it must be related to my driving style and where I want the tyre to excel.
The Rainsport 3 I even loved on the track in the dry this weekend!! which I didn't expect.
For reference my favourite tyre is the Conti sport contact 2 , but I would buy the RS3 because it seems to work
better for me on the mini absorbing the bumps and not a bit of skipping off line in the wet.
So I guess ultimately its your choice hope the above helps somewhat.

I very nearly went for Rainsport 3s for my R56 MCS but ended up returning them after then deciding to swap from 17" to 16" wheels. I can see why some say they last a while despite being soft as the tread depth was more akin to a winter tyre.
Worth looking at Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125s. £45 each (plus fitting) in 205/55/16 for me and I'm impressed. Rains a lot up here (Scotlandshire). They topped this test which convinced me to try them: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2016-AutoBild...

Loads of good results in tests, very impressed at £205/set.
