JCW Clubman Info
Discussion
Hi,
Im interested in buying this car,

Anyone had one or common issues to look out for, ive had a picture of the engine and it looks like a N18 engined car, it has an engine cover and card intercooler pipe.
Is it worth the extra over a normal Cooper S clubby in your experience?

I had a 2010 n14 engined jcw clubby for approx 2.5 years; really fun car, sounds good too! Only about 215 of them in the UK, never seen another one on the road.
Things to consider based on my experience:
Carbon build up will probably need cleaning/blasting to get the best out of the car.
Dash rattles (only sometimes, really annoying when happening as very loud!)
Timing chain rattle (maybe not an issue on n18??)
Thermostat hosusng splits/leaks, at approx 65k miles for me.
Harsh ride, run flats probably didn't help.
The Harman Kardon speakers are so much better than the basic ones.
Got approx 29mpg round town, 36-38 on motorway.
