Ok, I know car doors sometimes freeze up a little bit, but on wife's clubman this morning they were solid, and was scared handle was going to come off before door would open. I had no problem with my car (skoda) this morning, despite being parked next to each other. Mine were iced, opened with barely more than normal effort.
I'm wondering if door seals are not great, and letting a bit of water in. Anyone else had an issue? Just seem unreasonably difficult to open.

She has called dealer to ask if they can check seals are correctly fitted, and they expect to be paid just to look at it (10 month old car) and refund money if they decide it is a warranty issue... other manufacturers in my experience do not do this (e.g. Skoda, suzuki, porsche) and seems a bit tight.

I can't believe they are charging to check the seals! Did you buy from the dealer? If not I would try another who cares more about their customers! My BMW dealer would look at issues on my 9 year old clubman which I did not buy from them for free (unless it involved engine diagnostics....) ..... I did previously buy from them but always used them for servicing.....

I would tell them the doors won't open and let them diagnose where the issue is..... Perhaps leaving a message with them when you can't get in the car at 6AM would be appropriate?

Try some Gummi Pfledge on the seals: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nextzett-91480615-Rubber-...

I'm not that familiar with the F56 clubman window/door design, but it worked brilliantly on the frameless doors on my old Z4 and on my current R56 hatch.

Yes, bought from same dealer. Had similar issue with a bmw in Leeds a few years back, folding mirrors packed in and they wanted to charge to look at it. Contacted another local dealer and they say they also charge an investigation fee, but would have a quick look first without charge to see if they could see anything obvious. 2nd dealer a lot more helpful in general.

Kind of glad someone else has found it a problem, suggests it might be a slight design flaw that lets the doors freeze that badly.

Thanks for the recommendation, will give it a try
