lights on r56 mini

Hi all
odd question but is there a light that appears on the dash, letting you know your lights are on, i expect to be flamed for this, as i should just be able to tell by looking out the windscreen, but every car ive had a indicator appears somewhere letting you know your lights are on.
do mini's not have this??? for reference 2010 cooper

No, only way is to see if the instruments are illuminated, I know what you mean as the wife complained about the very same thing when we swapped cars the other week.
