Hi all,

Will be changing a battery for a friend who has a 2005 Cooper S. Got it going with a jump start but the battery isn't holding a charge and was dead again 30 mins later. Priced up a Bosch from ECP at about 60 odd quid with discount. Can anyone tell me if it will needed to be coded to the car like later stop/start models or is it a straight old fashioned swap? Read something about a vent as it is in the boot?

Thanks in advance

Doesn't need to be coded just chuck it on as normal, I can't remember if mine has a vent pipe but it's still on the original battery.

I wouldn't bother with Bosch personally, go for a Yuasa.

Many thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure it isn't a stop start model as it has an old fashioned key/ignition.
