My wife has found a lovely genuine R52, 2004 39K from new, nice spec....and is using it as a second fun car. I suggested that she might wish to join the Mini club.....not realising that there seem to be as many clubs as cars on the road !

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for a suitable one, I'm interested in the technical help/forums that may be available, and perhaps a decent national meet etc, rather than a regional meet in a Pub every month type of thing

Thank you

Try Totalmini.com - you'll get help and advice, and links to the national/local events that are on.

MiniTorque is more performance-orientated, and the folk on there are probably handier with the spanners than TotalMini. But a more 'laddish' sense of humour on there, just in case that's not your thing.

Mini Owners Group on facebook is quite good - Mix of people and tastes but there's no online keyboard warriors.

Mini Torque is my preference in terms of online forums, it's a bit straight talking but the guys no what they're talking about regarding buying the right things first time round etc.

Mini Owners Club on Facebook is ok. All sorts of people and styles of car on there.

Total Mini - I find best for general chat

Mini Torque - more the hard core modder and a bit "stance yo!" for me. Great for spare parts though.

I'm going to have to join TotalMini I think... I've been on MiniTorque a while now and find it pretty unfriendly, with no sense of community.

TotalMini is like Mumsnet whistle

I know you mean about Minitorque, it is a little umm, prickly occasionally, but between that & Trackmini i dont need any more Mini forums tbh.

Cliosport has more than enough Mini info on it anyways hehe

There's no shortage of forums, but most have about 5 active members at most - threads go unanswered for months!

Amazed given how many of the cars are on the road.
