New MINI JCW Challenge on the way...
Discussion
Basically the new GP3 under a different name;
Interesting spec;
Quaife LSD
Nitron adjustable coilovers (height, rebound with adjustable camber plates -2 degrees factory set)
Cup 2 tyres
Team Dynamics Wheels
Mintex brake pads
Final Body Graphics not designed yet.
No word on a stripped out interior but it could be the most hardcore MINI yet.

Nice! where did you get the specs from? I'm sorely tempted as the standard jcw's a blast.
Wonder if you can but the parts as a retro fit?
MINI just sent out the internal activation email and as I owned a GP and had been asking about this car I was forwarded the pdf.Wonder if you can but the parts as a retro fit?
I won't cut and paste the whole lot as there is a lot of stuff you won't be interested in but it's a push to market the John Cooper brand forward for more sales.

Are Cup 2 tyres safe enough to use on the road? I know they are road legal but I would have thought wet, winter or not warmed up and these tyres will be twitchy.
Depends how you drive... and so for that reason, of course they are. If you're taking risks then maybe they wouldn't be as safe as another tyre... but who would be so foolish? I think the spec sounds great. If it's not a stripped out car then I'd be very interested. EVO article implies that it isn't.

Sounds lovely - might have to get my name down for one. Any power increase mentioned? Car can probably handle it with a Quaiffe diff?The standard car is as listed below:

the one thing i have been told is extremely limited build numbers, like 50 or so.
the problem with that is they sold me a GP as a 200 uk models limited edition. which turned out to be bks...

This is UK special edition a bit like the Challenge 210. Not a standalone model like the GP.
USA and Japan markets tend to get a few more Special editions in small numbers.
So good to see MINI UK doing a small number car. Hopefully it doesn't just look like a JCW with bolted on dealer fit options and has a few special bits on it.
Just remember the GP is always the swan song at the end of the model year. So F56 GP will be 3/4 years away.

Yes but this appears to have some significant changes to the oily bits (such as a Quiffe diff, 2 way adjustable suspension and camber plates) which are not available as options from Mini, not to mention cup 2 tyres. It will be interesting to see how they price it. I suspect it will be very expensive for a Mini.USA and Japan markets tend to get a few more Special editions in small numbers.
