The R53 MCS has gone in to have some investigation works. After changing the steering rack the tpl and tcs lights have stayed illuminated and the tcs now doesn't switch off. Not a major problem from a drivability point of view as I hate tcs, but is a problem considering I can't extinguish the light and the MOT is due mid-week.

So place your bets folks as to what the problem is and how much it'll set me back.

That's exactly what it was. Few other little bits to sort and having it's MOT today.
