Just read about a naturally aspirated 130 bhp Mini Cooper that was tuned and released as the 'Cooper Works'...
Is there such a thing?

Not as such. There was two kits one from 2003 to 2004 cars then one from 2005 up

From 2003 - 2004 was John Cooper Works Tuning Kit

what included

JCW machined cylinder head
JCW “cat-back” sport exhaust system
JCW improved-flow air filter
JCW ECU programming
JCW engine cover
Side and rear JCW badges, numbered engine plate

The 2005 cooper had a JCW dealer fit option called the sound kit.

basically included

Air Intake with Sound Tube
Cat-back Exhaust
ECU Remap
Injection Tube Cover
Rear Badge

Still so much to learn about the options available on these cars! It's a bit mad really.

One thing I'm still after is the name of all the possible seating options. I know there were both Sparcos & Recaros offered, as well as some GP specific ones I think? I'm looking to get some second hand ones, but would prefer them with JCW logos...

Off the top of my head, there were normal seats, sports seats, the Recaro ones in the GP which were also available in other models in other colours, and the JCW Sparcos with harness holes.

R56 JCW Recaros are the same style as the Renaultsport ones, and fit in an R53

In terms of the JCW sound kit - as per the link, it was something like £2.5k fitted so basically S prices, for an extra 15bhp. Janspeed did a 140bhp Cooper which I drove back in the day, theirs was a gasflowed head and full exhaust system for £1.5k. Felt quite quick IIRC

The Sparcos also had a back seat option that was pretty rare as dealer fit option.

GP from R53 are black Recaros then there was a factory fit option what was black and grey and could be specced in cooper and S. Was a full set of seats rather then just front seats like all other Recaros.

Yup R56 Recaros same as Renault. Came in both leather and alcantara

Then the R56 GP Recaros are completely different again and came heated as standard.

All very confusing

And I've actually got a set of JCW Corbeaus - fixed kevlar buckets from a JCW challenge car. Very light

Thanks that's very helpful. Does anyone know the actual names of the seats? For example I know the Recaros I had in my Clio 182 were Trendlines.
