Thought I'd keep a little diary of my mini adventure.
Week 2 and its back in going back to the garage. Turbo oil pipes leaking. Nice smoke this morning driving so it's parked up in Morrisons. I did smell a little nasty the last few days but been dark going and coming home from work.
Garage I got the car from said they will cover it and send it to their garage which so far agreed to do both pipes.
I can see this being no mini adventure.
Tracking done last week only out little out but made a big difference.
New tensioner bolt ready to go in. Looks like something has been done before as one of the nuts on one of the pipes is slightly rounded. Not sure if full work done or just tensioner replaced.
Decoke on the cards to for peace of mind along with non runflat tyres.
Having a ganders around the engine bay it looks like half the engine needs to be stripped every time you need to do a simple job. The oil pipes are only £70/pair but hours of work.
Need to phone mini see if there is any outstanding recalls to. Water pump I know was on a recall any others ?
Can you get a 17inch spacesaver in the boot to.
