Heaters = Hot at idle, Cold when moving - 2011 Cooper S
Discussion
Hello
I have a problem with my car that means when I stop I get nice warm air - when the car is moving it will be cold/Lukewarm at best.
I have only had the car 5/6 months so I have never really used the heaters before, so I dont know if this problem has existed for sometime.
It is booked in for a new thermostat (error code) & waterpump (leaking) lucky its covered by a warranty.
by research is this due to the thermostat now failing to an "open" position? I only ask as I have to live with this for a week or so and im concerned the car engine wont be heating up properly + Im cold
Also I was told that if I keep the coolant topped up until fixed I will get hot air, this is not the case.
Thanks!

I'm not sure what your question is but we had a similar problem with our 2007 Cooper S. Coolant loss, heaters not working, engine would tend to overheat (yellow warning when driving up a mountain). The thermostat housing was broken/leaking. When they replaced that part it fixed all problems.
