Tyre widths for 15" wheels

Hi, need some new tyres soon for our clubman and have read you can put,

175
195
205

currently its on the 175/65/15

What are the benefits of going for 195 or 205 ?

I would stick to standard size BUT make sure you get premium tyres ie Michelin , Conti , etc . 15" wheels have the best ride quality on any MINI , 16" are optimum in my opinion and OE 17" just too heavy and its 'unsprung' weight as well which is not good .

We switched our Clubman from 175/65 15's to 195/60 15's with excellent results.
Significantly more lateral grip, increased ride comfort, without any significant weight penalty.
Stay on the 15's - smallest & lightest combination which fits over the brakes is always best.
Lightest MINI OEM 15" alloys are the R81 7-hole IMOLA Pepperpot style, which weigh just 5.45kg each. HTH
