I will be giving Adrian Flux a call as per the thread on the top of this forum but my Mini is due for insurance renewal but seeing as it had the JCW conversion when it was about a year old it doesnt show up on any online insurance sites as that, and is just listed as a standard Cooper S.

In light of that, can anyone recommend companies they have been happy with?

Chris Knott were good for me in the past when I only had the JCW - they're ok with lots of mods too

I would go with Adrian Flux - the company was by far the lowest in price for my (admittedly standard) MCS. If you can restrict the mileage to a certain level and join an owners' club if not already a member.

Thanks guys, it's not due for renewal until March but I'll give them both a heads up.

Hmm, I had some interesting quotes for a 2014 Cooper S with the JCW engine tune & exhaust......

Comparisons; Cheapest Cooper S £325, JCW £380, and Cooper S JCW kit £550.....Admiral quoted over £900 & phoned to see if I was interested; I explained it's a factory fitted kit, all official....but they didn't budge. Not happy.... Have dropped my interest - a shame, it was a nice car.

Most the normal companies should be OK if you call them up and explain it (normally have to put you on hold while underwriters sign it off). I have a 07 cooper S with the dealer fit 192 JCW tuning kit, and esure were happy to cover as a cooper s, modified with a remap and exhaust listed which was £12 extra over the cost of a normal copper S and cheaper than a full JCW model.

I'm with Mannings and they certainly recognise the JCW kit.
Personally I wouldn't touch Flux with a bargepole. You only find out how good they are when you really need them and all that...
