Dear All

This forum has proved very helpful in my short ownership history, but this is a urgent plea for advice.

The ride quality where I live on 17" wheels is teeth-rattlingly awful - the roads are just not appropriate for my little car (rather than the other way around). I want to fit smaller (yes, smaller) 16" wheels with more rubber than I have at the moment.

I have found these on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINI-COOPER-S-16-INCH-AL...

Does anyone know if these will clear the front discs and fit straight on or should I look elsewhere? The auction finishes today, so do need quick answers as the price is good and three out of the four tyres are in great shape.

With 7 hours to go, surely there's time for a call to your local MINI dealership.

Good idea although the seller has not put a part number nor wheel style reference on the listing, so all I have is the image. I'll give it a go later.

If you have runflats get rid of them, the ride quality will improve no end (& I went to 40 series!)

16" do for the Cooper S as the 1st Generation came with these as standard, but the Chilli pack added the 17"'s. As far as Im aware these where the 16" for the Cooper S

Those look like wheels available on the Cooper or One models but I cannot find a picture on them on the internet.

I did find this place though which seems to have lots of wheels. http://www.usedalloywheels.co.uk/used-mini-alloy-w...

I know the auction had ended, they will fit if you have standard brakes.

I have a set of 16" alloys with winter tyres that fit fine, they are the recommended size that is on the plate inside the car.

Thanks for all your help, everyone. I think I may have missed a bargain, but as the seller did not put the exact model (and I had not seen these wheels before) it was a bit risky.

There are loads of others on Ebay however, so I'll keep an eye on it.
