Passenger Electric window

2011 Countryman. Passenger window, press button, window moves an inch down then stops, have to keep pressing&releasing to get it all way down. Tried thumping panel above speaker, no luck.BMW want £300+ for a known fault... Funny thing was my wifes car she wouldn't pay BMW service costs so used backstreet garage for servicing, we are selling car, thought she better get a dealer stamp in book, they serviced it free as it has a service plan, and has had all its life :0))
