R50 Cooper Battery
Discussion
The Mrs's 05 Cooper had a flat battery a few months ago, jumped it, charged it, and all was well, roll on this morning and it's flat again, nothing obvious left on, so it's probably new battery time.
The Battery in the car appears to be the BMW original one, so not bad going for that one really, but it says on the side it is a 12V 55Ah 480A, now when I bang the cars details into Eurocarparts, it gives me the choice of a Type 027 or an 075.
The 027 appears to be 60Ah 480A and the 075 60Ah 520A
Neither matching identically, and the 075 although having the biggest numbers (not sure if this is a good thing) is the cheapest.
Another local battery specialist lists a few different batteries for the car, one is the same as the current one but the others differ like the Eurocarparts ones, so will there be any problems fitting a 'different spec' battery, the physical size appears to be the same and the companies are suggesting they are a direct replacement....what's the worst that can happen?
