Sports button - what does it do??

Hi, recently purchased a 2007 MCS for my Wife and having pressed the above many times, and nothing seems to happen, I'm asking is this correct or not.

I have a sport mode button on my m3 and it actually is noticeable when u depress it, so just a question?


Also, is it easy to replace exhaust tips and will the JCW tips fit a 2007 model

Firms up the steering, more responsive throttle adds pops and bangs in some instances, gives no extra performance though.

Effect on the steering weighting up should be quite noticeable.
Throttle pedal remap is mild.
Pop & bang on overrun is random, may only happen with Super and only on MCS.

To check if the button itself is functioning, there's a green teller LED on the button and the dash should display SPORT - see this video at 2:30 - http://youtu.be/P5wP_hpeSzE?t=2m30s
