GP2 first trackday
Discussion
And I see you are keeping the GT3 after all - ? Probably a wise decision as you will never get back what you invested in her. I took my GP Mk I to the Nordschleife for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. It probably helps knowing that you are not risking 50k. That and the fact that you are whizzing buy other 'higher end' cars admittedly probably because they were novices.

Pip, the GT3 has gone - now just the GP2 for track fun. Cheeky remap and 271 bhp help it along a little 😄. I'm going down the modding route and looking forward to getting more and more out of it 😄. The GP momstered cars that you would think it shouldn't and that wasn't down to poor driving. One of my friends is a very good driver of track and his 135i coupe with DCT a was no match
Looking forward to the next trackday and the Ring next year for sure 😄

On no I cannot believe you did sell it after all. Someone has likely got themselves a bit of a bargain. Hopefully your realised some of your outlay with the recent increase in price and scarcity of GT3s. Has it stayed in the UK? hopefully we will still see it on track.
Still onwards and upwards.

More power you say!
I took mine through some B roads (London to the Sunday Service at Zenos). The car was absolutely amazing. Didnt for one second think "This car could do with more power"....
Keen to know what yours like like. More details?
The DMS remap has made a noticeable difference. It pulls stronger for longer pretty much to the red line. However for me the flywheel is too heavy - I like a fast, responsive throttle to allow heel and toeing on down shifts, but that's not easy as is, so this is definitely a mod to be done, along with a more aggressive clutch I think. Then I want updated down pipe with subsequent remap. Brakes are amazing on the road and lasted very well on track, but I can see a need for better pads and braided hoses as a minimum, if not updated discs. Finally I need a 2nd set of wheels for the Kumho's for trackdays - probably TD Pro Race mini challenge spec. I'm going to see Kevin Fullbrook at Sussex Road and Race next Saturday for some inspiration I took mine through some B roads (London to the Sunday Service at Zenos). The car was absolutely amazing. Didnt for one second think "This car could do with more power"....

Oh and one more thing, especially for the track - proper bucket seats - maybe Recaro Pole Position or similar

Was there any particular reason you chose the DMS remap over say the Evolve one? Been looking at getting a remap for my JCW but the lack of feedback for anything other than the Evolve one has put me off.
Cheers

Sorry only just seen your post. I chose DMS as I know the owner, Rob, and respect the quality of his work. He also remapped my previous 1M and did a great job with that too.Cheers

How do you compare the 1m to the gp2? 2 very different yet both very desirable cars both with rock solid residuals.
You're right - both very desirable and limited edition, etc... Both make you feel special in the way they look and drive. The biggest difference is that the GP2 is like a CSL, not a 1M - stripped out and paired down Trackday ready car straight out of the box - that should answer your question
