Extended warranty
Discussion
If you do, then tick the option for no excess. It costs about £100 extra, but at £175 an hour you'll end up paying £100 a fault anyway. In other words, if you need to make a claim (and why else get a warranty?) it pays for itself.
At the end of the day you are paying for peace of mind; if anything happens, you just drive it to the dealers and let them sort it out. I did on my 58 plate Cooper (which had a history of window motor faults) and, sure enough, two days later they went on the blink again. Over all I probably paid over the top as I didn't claim again until I PXed nine months later, but I was a lot happier knowing the car was still under warranty.
Hope that's useful feedback.
