R56 MCS misbehaving - couple of warning lights
Discussion
Evening chaps, wonder if anyone can help me...
Had a series of warning lights come up today, once this morning briefly and again just a minute ago.
They both appeared at the same time - on the small circular lights within the rev counter the red "handbrake on" light and the one directly above it, a yellow triangle with exclamation mark inside and arrow curling round which obviously relates to the stability control- the same warnings appeared on the main screen too for a few seconds before going out.
Car feels fine, not due for any service. Manual says brake fluid AND "chassis control system failure" respectively?! Anyone else ever had these together?!
Advice would be much appreciated! Cheers

My 2012 One D had both stability control and brake warning lights come on intermittently. Central fault indicators on tyre, brake, stability would come on. Fault started about a month ago after maybe 1 - 2 miles driving on around every second or third drive and would only extinguish when engine was shut down and re-started. Power steering felt heavy and it seemed that a speed sensor had gone. Initially thought it was a puncture.
Took it to Mini service last week and they picked up a series of faults with steering angle sensor, speed sensor, but could not fully diagnose as the fault was not current when inspected. I took it back a few days later when the error appeared, kept the engine running and Mini service hooked it up, kept it overnight and after a few hours found a wire had been rubbed through on another pipe or cable under the battery; I guess it was a common power feed for a number of sensors? They repaired the wire and it has been fine for about 10 days.
Might be the same issue with yours; possibly a wrongly routed cable or a batch of faulty tight looms? Mini Service dept said a few other cars from around the same vintage (Sep 2012) had similar multiple faults that they were struggling to diagnose but they have possibly now found the cause.

My 2012 mini copper has started coming up with multiple error, ABS fault, stabilisation fault, cruise control fault and list goes on. Also wipers start on their own. Speedo and tachomgo mad. Take key put and reinsert then system is fine, for a while, then restarts again. Tried restting electrics by pushing in both buttons on tachometer and it cleared errors for couple days. But now back again.
