MINI Connected NAV map update?

Some info that may only relate to the later versions, but I can't see why there isn't someone out there offering an update disc for the mini navigation.

Hi all
I known this is an old thread but wondered if anyone can help me please?
I have a 2012 Mini Roadster that has the upgrade of the Media Pack. However, I don’t think the Sat Nav has ever been updated.
Could anyone please give me some advice on how to get it updated without going to a dealer and spending £££+
I have been reading up about it and found out can plug a USB stick into the glove compartment and run an update etc but not sure where I get the software etc.
Would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction or have any links? Thank you
Kind regards
Sarah

There's a company in the UK that sells the map updates with either a one off or lifetime code dependent on how often you want to buy the updates.
Full instructions given and you download the folders via a zip file from the cloud hosting them. Put them on a USB and then load them via USB port into the car. Took me about 20mins last year for the latest 2017 UK/EU maps. Flawless ever since and c£30-£40 + code if I remember.

Got mine 2011 cooper s updated to latest maps from
https://www.oemnavigations.com/
As poster above said download, instructions and key given(based on your chassis no). Never done before just need a USB stick ,( or sd card and adaptor). Does take a long time to update -about 6hrs I think, so plug in and do in plenty of time whilst driving rarther than leave ignition on to keep update going.
No problems with mine since installation.

I’ve just used these people lifetime updates £44. You get a lifetime update code linked to your vin. You need a 64gb usb stick but once downloaded which if your IT is reasonable is ok it took about 35 minutes to upload. Very pleased would recommend OEM Navigations. https://www.oemnavigations.com/

I'm tempted, my R58 is on Road Map Europe MOVE 2015-1 so would be worthy upgrade. Do they provide the new maps twice a year via a download link?
Yes there should be 2 updates per year e-mailed to you as a download link. Try putting thankyou code in at checkout should save 15%mh125 said:

It did take off 15%, thank you to you for sharing. Download link appeared via email in less than 60 seconds and it's a 5GB .rar archive hosted in Google Docs. Uncompressed it's 12GB. I used a 16GB USB key formatted using my Windows 10 laptop in exFAT. I popped the USB key into the car and turned on the ignition. Within 15 seconds I was prompted by a screen saying newer maps were available and would I like to start. I selected cancel as I planned to start the upgrade on my drive home. Selecting cancel removed the ability to launch Navigation from the headunit and I was asked for an activation code. I used the FSC also contained in the email and that restored the old maps. A word of warning here, if you stumble across maps without an activation/upgrade key don't be tempted to try and wing an upgrade, you'll loose access to your existing system.
My commute is 60 minutes and the update process had completed 45% by then, I turned the engine off but left the key in the ignition and left the car unlocked to complete the upgrade. In total it was a shade over 2 hours but I now have Road Map Europe MOVE 2018-2 loaded for less than £40.

Hi, I've just joined PistolHeads and found this thread. I found all the info about OEM Navigations very useful. I upgraded my 2011 Countryman Cooper S from MOVE 2011 to MOVE 2020 and took the Lifetime option. The discount is now 10% but for a total cost of £36 it's great value. I found the images posted above very helpful. It did take around 3 hours to update, I guess it's how old your version is determines how long the update takes, but well worth the effort.
