R56 Cooper S help
Discussion
Our 08 Cooper S has been in for a service today and had the following also as apparently the brake wear sensor was inaccurate so they needed to alter the software:
Cbs data correction required
0000556
Perform vehicle test
3400510
Check brake pad thickness
6100006
Perform vehicle diagnosis - test module
3499000
Replace front brake pad sensor F.0,.c
6100710
Program /code control units not including C
M34356789329 PAD SENSOR
I pick the car up and the display settings were all re-set: time in wrong format, date in wrong format, average mpg, average speed etc. No big deal - I'll put them back how we like them.........
Then on the way home I noticed that there were none of the pops and bangs on lift off. Usually I can provoke them so I tried. No joy. Not a pop or crackle (or snap for that matter)...
Now here is the question - I asked the dealer if this software alteration changed anything else - I was told categorically not. What's happened then?
Has anyone else experienced this?
TIA.

sounds like the firmware has been brought up to the latest revision which I had heard removes those pops and burbles (slight alteration to the fuelling). Apparently the firmware update happened to most R56 S's when they were brought into the main dealer for the next service interval but I cannot confirm if that is actually true or not.
Time for a remap?

That's what I suspected - dammit.rob200sx said:
