Bumper fitment will 2007 fit 2003

Hi, just wondered if anyone could help with bumper fitments on a 2003 mini cooper.
Someone reversed into my rear bumper and cracked beyond repair and i am just after buying a new rear bumper and poss a new front bumper from a 2007-2008 cooper or cooper s, seen a few on ebay going for £50-100 per bumper complete with rear,mesh etc... Just thought while changing the rear i might as well do the front and give the car a more updated look ?

Is this just a straight swap or am i best sticking to model specific bumpers for the 2002-2006 model ??

I would have thought a significant amount of modification would be necessary to make a R56 bumper fit on an R50/53. Mounting points and mating surfaces, wings etc are all significantly different, and I think the R56 is wider than a R50/53.

But of course anything can be made to fit given the right amount of time and effort

They are two different models

Easier sticking with r53 bumpers , not seen r56 bumpers fitted on an r53
Keep an eye on owners websites they pop up cheap from time to time.

Thank you for the help, ill stick with the original cooper bumpers then, keep it simple
