This will be our 3rd MINI. We had a Cooper in 2007, a Cooper S in 2010 and last year traded that for a BMW 1 Series. My OH hated it from the day we got it home so now we've swapped it for the Clubman.

It'll be nice to get back in to a turbo petrol as the 1er was diesel. Plus I have a happy wife again!

Strangely our 3rd Mini was a Cooper S Clubman too

We owned a 2001 Mini One for about six years and a 2005 Cooper S for a couple of years.

WE have had the clubman for almost two years now and are still enjoying it.....

Have fun!

My wife is on her 4th Mini!!

First one was a Cooper, 02 plate I think?
Second was one of the 1st Cooper convertibles, I remember placing an advance order as a surprise present for her
Third was a Cooper S convertible, nicest looking in red
Latest is a Cooper S coutryman (more space needed but not as much as the X3 that it reaplaced)

I had one Mini, and it was more than enough.

Yeah my OH has said she'd have every kind of Mini in the driveway if she could. Thing is she had some nice BMs before she got the Mini bug smile . She's now gone and chopped in her cooper diesal for a roadster SD, I can't keep up.

I had one Clio, and it was more than enough for me.

Fun to drive, but just a bit too cheap & plasticy inside, and with no distinctive character to it whatsoever other than cheapness.

I bought my wife a MINI - she likes higher quality interiors, doors that go thunk rather than clang, heated seats, etc. etc. - and driving it was so much fun that I bought another MINI for myself too.

My MINI keeps up nicely with well driven Renaultsport Clio's from A to B over real roads, but uses half the fuel, has lower insurance, £30 road tax, and I have just as much driving fun while doing so. And I enjoy all this while sitting in a far higher quality interior with a distinctive character to it too - truly the best of both worlds imho... tongue out

Weirdly for a car that is striving so hard to stand out, it was oddly characterless.

I hated mine with a passion - it felt heavy and cumbersome, and the harder you drove it, the more ragged everything became. The Clio I replaced it with is nowhere near as well built, but it IMO is far better to drive, and cruically, has a personality.

Still, each to their own.

We both thought the 1 series lacked character and personality and its for those reasons we went back to the MINI.

Now we've had it for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it. Really missed how well the Cooper S drives and it pulls well in any gear at any speed. I think we will have this one for quite a long time.

Mike - do you notice a lot of wind noise around the drivers door of your clubman?

When driving in the rain through puddles it's quite loud too. I keep checking that the window is fully up.

Not really noticed anything like that TBH.

I seem to remember reading something about the windows not returning to original position once the door had been opened - but I am fairly certain this was R53 related and not R56. Although, it sounds like your windows are shut?

Sorry I can't help...
