Wife's Mini JCW Clubman is about to become 3. Mini have offered a 12 month warranty to run till it's 4th birthday but at over £500 for the comprehensive one it seems expensive. Car has only done 22k but is loaded with lots of options like Nav/Tv/Panny Sunroof etc and I'd normally change it now but not sure it is worth doing so as a new one will be over 27k redface

Anyone used the warranty? Are they good payers? Are Mini's reliable enough not to bother?

It's provided by Mondial Insurance, so I'd pay attention to the second word... It's insurance. It all depends how confident you are in the car.

I'd say that doesn't seem bad value, when you consider your car has a lot of extras which would also be covered. If the nav unit goes blank one day, then it'll be in excess of £500 to sort.

Cheers Pulse. Not just an extension of the warranty like what Audi/BMW do then?

Those aren't either, AFAIK. The BMW one is Mondial Insurance. It works like a warranty, and in some cases it's better.

Had the full comp and no excess option on my MINI. The windows went on the blink about a week later and I just booked a time, drove in and they fixed it. It was the easiest extended warranty claim I've ever had to make.

The dealer also liked the extension when it came the PX time.

Are you going to hang on to it until the new-gen model?

No idea at the moment. Seems daft trading it with just 20k miles but I don't normally keep cars long smile
