Supercharger pulley mod
Discussion
Okey dokey. Presumably there is an implication on supercharger longevity if you make it spin faster? Also, does one need a different belt at 15% or does the spring tensioner take up the slack?
One last one, easy enough for a home spanners like me? I gather you need a puller to release the pulley wheel.

supercharger oil is for life so leave it alone, its good for well over 200K and I have seen them passing 300k miles without any issues.
You need a specific mini puller as there is not enough room for a gear puller. there are lots of guides on the net but basically lift the side of the engine up and you can get to the pulley. You ideally need a special belt tool but you can just about get around it. You will need a smaller belt which is normally supplied with the pulley.
15% is fine on a stock engine and over winter months I have ran a 17% but it gets a bit hot in the summer and benefits from a bigger intercooler.
As for blower life you should be fine

Well my oil on my supercharger, the rear resevoir behind the water pump oil was black and sticky and the front one didnt have any in it !!!. So at 72k miles, was worth checking and replacing the oil, in my view. I dont suspect it would be long before it failed. I would recommend to do this on a routine basis of every 30k miles. Just a bit of a faff getting to the rear end. As for squeaky pulley, are you sure its a pulley, not an idler bearing or more likely a dry belt?

Not to sure to be honest. Just makes that annoying squeeky noise, just sounds like something needs a touch of lube. Okey dokey, I fitted my 15% pulley this morning. Me likey, the car pulls like a train.
Slight confusion reigns though, I still have to change the plugs & my new NGK BKR7EQUP plugs have definitely got a 16mm diameter on them.
I don't have the right socket, so popped along to Halfords this morning to get one & they didn't have one. Am I right in thinking I will need a specialist thin walled 16mm socket to swap the plugs over or am I barking up the wrong tree?
