New to Mini Ownership - I bought a Clubvan

That’s a pretty cool van. Some interesting modifications you’ve done there. I’m going to keep mine standard, the decals will be peeled off eventually.
Love the humour with the engine stickers. The key seems to be regular oil changes and a chain replacement at the right point in the engine’s life.
Thanks, yes the guides for the cam chain are the problem, I was tempted to have it checked out when all the modifications were being done but decided not to because the engine was quiet on a cold start plus the very low mileage. The re-map and K&N filter (which fits in the standard air-box so no big heat suck) completely transformed the car and I'd recommend Celtic to re-map it if you ever chose to do that.Love the humour with the engine stickers. Mine was a high spec too with heated cloth seats, upgraded lights etc.
They were very expensive new and for such an impractical load space can understand why they didn't sell that many, still it adds to the rarity of it. People quite often say to me they didn't realise they made a van version

Having owned my Clubvan for 10years now , it just ticked over 100k today . Rather than selling as it’s a rarely used 4th car , I’m thinking of throwing a bit of money at a refresh , full suspension. , remap , paint etc . Can anyone recommend any specialists up north that know there way around Clubvan mods ?

Lohen arent really up north (well they are compared to where i live in Hampshire), but they certainly know their way around minis. Will follow this with interest
We've got one of these and it's getting on a bit, albeit with pretty low mileage at 50k
My wife uses it as her daily, mostly nipping around town and taking the dogs out
Can't really think of anything to replace it so some upgrades might give it a new lease of life.
Standard petrol manual with pretty basic spec.

I'm not sure if the numbers are available but the petrol Clubvan is much rarer than the diesel powered version.

Yeah this is where we were at . Owned for 10years , demoted 18m ago from my wives daily to my dog car . I nearly bought a new defender a few weeks ago to replace it but then thought I still love it visually , it was just a bit tired , so why not spend the defender depreciation money on the van instead , bringing it back to great health, hopefully better than new in some areas with power flex bushes , eibach springs etc . I’ll report back with costs after this 1st stage .. I’ve told them no rush so may be some time . We've got one of these and it's getting on a bit, albeit with pretty low mileage at 50k

Are you keeping the engine standard?Somehow getting car play into the bog standard ICE would be good as well.

For this year at least , I daily a GR Yaris and have another weekend toy on the way , so this is really for dog / bike transport and just because after 10years I still love the looks and rarity etc . Not really ever going to be a b road blaster , but if any parts can be improved as replaced through general wear and tear that’s the intention . And a remap likely on the cards once it has a new clutch in . Don’t want to kill this one prematurely when it’s already got 100k on it .Somehow getting car play into the bog standard ICE would be good as well.
Stage 1) mechanical refresh 2024
Stage 2) body work inc mods 2025
Stage 3) performance and likely clutch . 2026
If it goes bang at some point I do like the idea of a JCW conversion ….
