Supersports or GTC Speed???
Discussion
The time has come to change the wifes car and she likes the Bentley, now I drive the car from time to time so I'm thinking get a supersports (4 seat option) but she favours soft tops! So my question is do i get the supersports or the cab. I have driven a the coupe version not a cab but wondered if anyone has either and what they are like as a daily runner? Thanks in advance.
A little confused as it sounds like your toying with a Supersports or just a Cabriolet?
If thats the issue why dont you get the Supersports Cabriolet which is also available.
Having driven the Supersports in both cab and coupe form I have to say its a phenomenal car and went far beyond my expectations. For me it put both the standard GT and the Speed edition to shame. The carbon ceremaic brakes are among the best I have tried and as an everyday drive it was almost perfect for me. Can be used as a gentle crusier as my dad did or a ferocious beast when it takes your fancy.
Just a few days ago someone I know traded in a 10 plate Ferrari 458 and part exchanged it for a Supersports Cab. He personally much prefered it over the Ferrari.

Just bought a supersport coupe its a fantastic car, power is immense, handling excellent, quality and finish is second to none.We wanted a car that could replace a range rover and a sports coupe and it certainly has done this.Try alan coleman at broughtons byfleet surrey really nice guy and they have a few around at the moment.Tried a speed and was very impressed but it didnt make my hair stand up on end where as the ss does, lucky hunting.

As others have said a completely different proposition to the gt speed not only because of the difference in power but becauseof the completely different setup. The speed is a very fast car but is basically a fast version of the gt. The supersports has a different gearbox setup so even the paddle shift works properly and it has harder suspension but not to the point oof being unbearable. I personally prefer the ride of the supErsports because it feels tighter even when going over potholes and is markedly different going round corners.
The supersports also has those nice black wheels

Against the general consensus of opinion so far but I never got on with the Supersports. I had one for just two weeks whilst another car was in the body shop and I really didn't like it. I've owned a couple of Contis though including the GTC.
IMO, the GTC is a much better car. The Supersports is far too heavy and un-engaging to pass as a sports car yet it's a worse Bentley for all the compromises it makes. As far as the wife goes, she will definitely prefer the GTC Speed. Obviously, if you want the SS then buy the SS convertible and don't let her test drive the Speed and she'll be none the wiser.
As fas as the Ferrari story goes; anyone that swaps a 458 for a Bentley of any sort and prefers the Bentley didn't know what he was buying when he ordered the 458, because they are as quite simply as different as apples and bowling balls.

Thanks for your reply. I won't be buying it as a fun car as I already have one of those for blast's on my own! It purely boils down to when I do drive it I personally prefer the looks and ride height of the supersports, I will take the other half sometime next week to have a look/test drive she also prefers the supersports but I have a feeling she will go for the cab (if i let her). In respects to the Ferrari comment I have to agree they are totally different animals one is a shire horse the other a race horse!!!IMO, the GTC is a much better car.
