Hello All,

I have a turbo RL that I am taking to a sunnier country than the UK. Has anyone had any experience with putting window tints on such a car?

if so, can you give some pointers? Anyone used a garage local to London ?

I am not going for the "gansta" look, but was thinking of light grey smoke colour tints, to help block the damage caused by excessive heat and uv rays..

thank you.

Does the RL not already have tints sufficient for sun glare? My RL 2000 does....they're pretty good tints to be honest...

I think any decent tinter could help, but I'd pay for tints specifically for solar glare, rather than 'pimp my ho' tints.....

Maybe someone on the continent may be more suited to providing these? You just need to do some research on an expats website or something....?

Sorry I can't help.

RR/B parts list quote only Sundym glass.
Rear quarter parts are:
UB89918 RH Sundym drop glass LWB
UB89919 LH Sundym drop glass LWB

UB43510 RH quarter light (Sundym)
UB43509 LH ditto

The only reference I can find to clear glass appears to relate to rear windows, so I am a bit perplexed. All the Turbo Rs and RLs that I have seen have Sundym as standard. It is quite a subtle tint. I think there was a front screen option with a dark top band.

Clear, dark and Sundym options are listed for limousine. Your dealership should be able to tell you what was fitted to your car, given the VIN number; of course, glass could have been changed subsequently.

If you do decide to go for tints, the only company I would use is Pentagon Auto Tints. I have tried other companies on different cars but think they do about the best job (this is only my opinion).
