Nearly time to buy my Arnage.......

....but....
Is this at £24k.....

as good as, or better value, than this at £35k?

I was completely sorted with an Arnage T, but now looking at it (and from a slightly financial point of view too), would a Red Label (with the inclusion of a set of T 19" wheels), make as good a option?
Must be black with cream interior!

I would go for the 'T'.
There would be no point putting T wheels on the R, IMO, as the attraction of the R is the waft. I know a few folks who bought new, and avoided the T in favour of the waft, as unless you really needed the performance, less is more.
The R is a good price, but beware those miles, if you are going to resale in a year or three, and crank it up nearer or over 100,000 the trade value would fall off a cliff. It is also at an age/mileage/price where there are probably going to be regular and large fettling bills each year too (easily £2000 to £5000 a pop) overhauling this, replacing that, etc, not just the regular servicing costs. That sort of maintenance spend, coupled with the resale hit you would take moving it on with 100K plus, it could end up being poor value for what you got out of it.
What car would you rather be trying to move on a few years hence? I reckon the T would command much stronger money, be easier to sell, and might well have cost you much less to have run too.
BTW, I have no idea why, but just from the ads and the pics, my Spidey senses are telling me that the T is a good 'un, and that the R ain't!

Depends whether you want a car that goes like s**t off a shovel, or one that looks as though it does. Edited by Bluebottle911 on Friday 24th September 21:14
I have had 2 R's brand new over the years and they were always my preference as there was very little in terms of performance but the road was better for long distance travelling in the R, however these 2 cars that you posted are completely different as Bentley made major changes for the 02 model year mainly to the suspension and some upgrades inside the car but they both drive very different as in terms of road holding, whatever you buy ensure you are looking at a 02 model year onwards car. These were known as R & T for the 02 model year previous to that it was Red Label, you can tell the 02 model year as the speakers grilles inside and the seats are different, but believe me in terms of roadholding and if you are pushing on the 02 and later cars make a huge amount of difference, and make no assumptions as these cars are expensive to run and maintain and always check when the last hydraulic service was carried out, these are not cars to run on a shoe string budget, and although they are 40k now they were 160k new and parts and servicing are priced accordingly , lucky for me mine have been new and under warranty but the service manger has shown me warranty claims for 6 month old cars for 10k+ I am currently running a 58 plate Arnage T which has been very problematic and has had warranty claims totally 25k since new!
Whichever car you are interested in it is well worth getting a specialist to inspect it and see what it needs to bring it up to tip top condition. When I was buying my car I thought it was an excellent example(it's unmarked as new inside and out)but it still needed a hydraulic service and a few other minor wear items addressing which cost me £8k at a specialist.Incidently I mentioned to the specialist that I would eventually upgrade to a 500bhp T 07 onwards model but he advised I just kept the Red Label that I already have as the ride is much more compliant-It does roll a bit when pressing on but not as much as the shadow2 I used to own but I suppose that's part of the character.I have access to and use hundreds of different cars of all descriptions every year for my job but my old Arnage still feels a special place to be and like my SVX landy,I never get bored of it.
