Bentley GT Supersports - driven
Discussion
I was very fortunate yesterday and was invited along to Bentley Leicester as their guest to go to Bruntingthorpe and have a drive in the supersports.
Nice breakfast at the dealership, followed by a mass drive though the country side (I was also lucky yo be a passenger in my mates Rolls Ghost) brought us nicely to Bruntingthorpe.
Usual corporate layout, refreshments - very well done. Lots of other interesting people with plenty of nice exotica(Astons, Rolls, Bentleys, 911s, Defender(!)). Favourite of the day was the wonderful Aston DB5 (600BHP!) with a nice old gent driving it.
Anyway, the 'experience' offered was a lap with an instructor around the track, few cones to slalom through and then a separate cone set up to demo emergency stop and swerve/handling. Then we got two laps of us driving that followed by a pedal-to-the-floor thrash down the long runway.
Amazing car. Despite it's size it felt light and agile. And obviously rapid. The handling was sure-footed and predictable. And the blast down the runaway...well I hit 165mph with space to spare and it was still going for it. I then chickened out.My mate managed 180+ and his instructor was shouting 'brake' at him
And those brakes....the carbons on the front are vast. They stop brilliantly. Never driven anything like it.
The interior was very comfortable (to be fair I;ve not driving a normal GT so difficult to compare). Lots of carbon inside and this one had the back seats taken out. But all very nicely done. (I understand many are ordering them with 4 seats).
A sneaky flick through the trip computer gave an indicated 6mpg. But when you consider the way they were being driven on the day - that's a bargain
Anyway, thanks to Bentley Leicester. Nice bunch of folk. And stunning piece of kit.

i think the reason the back seats weren't put in was to reduce weight as the Supersports is supposed to be a much more speed focused car compared to the Speed and regular CGT. Adding the back seats back in kind of defeats the purpose although there is nothing wrong with putting them in as not many people would take their Supersports on a track anyway! Very nice car...can't wait for the price to go down!!
