Just collected my new RR Ghost this afternoon. Wow, what a car! I have only driven it home so haven't spent much time in it yet, but am now looking forward to spending most of the weekend driving it.

Cool..

What sort of person buys a ghost out of interest? Self drive? daily drive? etc etc. I once read that RR reckon to buy a phantom you need 20M in the bank or some such bks. The theory being you would buy if off the earned interest or something like that.

Out of interest, how long from placing initial order to delivery. Saw a white one when it saw being shipped overseas and was very taken by it.

Quite.

A new Phantom costs about £250,000, so why would you need 20M? You wouldn't even need to be a millionaire, just reasonably well off. And it's not beyond the reach of someone on an ordinary income either, depending upon your priorities. Ordinary people spend that much on a house, so why not a car instead?

That is a figure I've heard too, it's not that they need it, that's just the wealth of their average customer IIRC.

I wish I was that wealthy, I have had a Gallardo and a V8 Vantage before, and I wanted to have another special car that the whole family could enjoy!

I ordered the car last summer and it has been a long wait until delivery. I only wish the weather was a bit better for my first weekend of driving it!

Take your pictures using a digital camera, download them into 'My Pictures' on your PC, then google Tinypic.com. Hit 'Browse', select a picture. Hit 'Upload', copy the url for Forums etc. Paste it into your reply on Pistonheads. Repeat process for more pics, so keep Tinypic open while you are doing it.

And step on it, there's a good chap! We're sitting drooling here.

Are you serious?? Do you think that someone can spend £250k on a depreciating asset which probably costs several thousand per annum in service, insurance, consumables and he isnt at least worth £1million?? Get real!

There are exceptions, though with RR I tend to agree the average owner is probably a highly wealthy. But there was that guy who earned a fairly average wage and spent most of his salary on a V12 vantage biggrin

Stunning car, though, really great, seems more day to day than the frankly HUGE in your face Phantom.

How big is the Ghost? 7Series, S-Class size? or bigger?

It's supposed to be aimed at the 7-series and S-class market - although obviously the top end of those, I think it's roughly the same size although I think it's slightly on the bigger side!
