After some recent expenditure on my Silver Spirit (major service by Nigel Sandell, new lambswool overrugs from Morlands), I decided it was finally time to have the door cappings refurbished as the lacquer was peeling quite badly and really letting the rest of the car down!

After a few recommendations from RREC members, I decided to entrust the work to Joe Crabtree of Woodwork Restoration in Norfolk. Joe carries out this type of work for P&A Wood and although slightly more expensive than other companies I spoke to, I was happy to pay that little bit extra for a top quality job.

Two weeks after sending the door cappings to Joe, they arrived back with me today. I've just opened the packaging and all I can say is that the quality of workmanship is absolutely stunning!

I have taken a day off on Friday to refit them to the car and will post some photos up when I'm done. In the meantime though, if anyone else is thinking about getting the same work done all I can say is that Joe is definitely the man for the job clap

I will bear that in mind, mine are still pretty good at the moment, but one of them has an ever growing split in it.

Joe charges £90 per capping. Other suppliers I spoke to were quoting around £70. It was well worth paying the extra twenty quid!

Let me know if you want me to post contact details. Joe tends to get business from word of mouth or ongoing contracts (such as P&A Wood) so has no website or email address. A refreshingly old school way of doing business.
