ROLLS ROYCE SILVER CLOUD III
Discussion
Hello out there all RR&B techno wizards,
I have a standard GM Hydra-Matic 4 speed auto box in my Rolls Royce Cloud III. Recentley it's been discharging a continuous stream of transmission fluid when I first put it in REVERSE. It leaves a continuous trail for about 50 to 100 yards. After it's been running a while it appears to stop and doesn't return even when reverse is again selected. It never leaks in any of the forward gears, and doesn't leak again in reverse until the next time I use the car......then the same performance again etc.
The car's performance appears unaffected, no strange noises, changes gear cleanly and no other symptoms. After maybe a dozen times I used the car I topped up the transmission using between 1/2 and 1 litre of fluid, so you can see the discharge is considerable, not to mention the staining on my drive and the adjoining road. The car has done 89K miles.
Any suggestions or pointers please.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards Howard
