The 101EX was the concept car from whence the production drophead came, originally shown at Geneva. It was the follow-on from the original 100EX concept car (also a Geneva car), which was bonkers (had a V16 engine); the 101EX, by contrast, was pretty much production-ready in true BMW fashion, barring some carbon fibre bodywork IIRC.
EX100 is the convertible concept car which led to the production Phantom Drophead coupe, with a few changes such as existing V12 (EX100 had a 9.0 litre V16)
EX101 is the coupe concept which we now know as the (production) Phantom Coupe which will debut in Geneva on Tuesday.
