What's the std wheel size on an Arnage T?

One last night in North London had 22" items.

Hmmm, that's presumably why they've built a prototype with a Bugatti Veyron lump... apparently the gangsta rap fraternity has complained their Bentleys don't accelerate too well after they've returned from Mo's Blingin' Wheels LLC...

why would the accelleration be affected if the rolling radius is the same?

Rotating weight - and as wheels that big are purely made for attention whoring rather than performance, lots of it. wink

As long as the 22" wheel/tyre combination doesn't weigh any more than the 19s or 20s they replaced, it won't reduce acceleration, in fact it might improve it, if the slightly wider boots give more traction.

But the tyre will be lighter probably... and rotational inertia is surely tiny compared to the 2.5 tonne mass of the car????

You can take it as a given it doesweigh more unless OZ just released a 22" Ultraleggera. hehe

As the aspect ratio decreases the sidewall needs to be stronger... hence very little weight difference between say, a 195/60/15 and a 195/50/16. The wheel, OTOH, will get heavier with every up-size.

There's a reason modern tyre balancers incorporate a lift... health and safety regulations simply forbid the tyrefitter to lift a 20" (or bigger) wheel/tyre combo by themselves.

And ehm... no one noticed the wink with the original comment, then?

Old post, but good god man, you’re 100% wrong – your fondness for oversized wheels has led you into inverting the laws of physics to justify your position – fact: larger diameter turns more slowly - simplest way to improve acceleration on any car is to spec smaller wheels. It’s why Caterham, one of the most performance-aware car companies in the world, charges EXTRA for smaller wheels … Large wheels are inferior in every way, apart from the only one that counts nowadays, namely fashion. If you like donk wheels, knock yourself out, but please stop kidding yourself that they are serious wheels.

I don't know about other years, but the factory 2pc wheels on mine are 19"
