The new 600 BHP Continental GT
Discussion
Figures are fast and interior mods from the original also a bonus BUT it still looks like the bog standard Conti from the outside with blinged-up wheels that have probably ruined the close to perfect ride.
Anyone know of when/if a new model is due or is Bentley not wanting to piss-off current GTConvertible buyers that have paid top dollar for a standard GT Minus a roof for the price of a Audi A4.
May i add that friend had one and its probably the best car i have ever experienced - Used prices hovering around £60k surely have this car as the Performance/GT/Luxury car of the century.

The Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur are way better than some diehards/anoraks like to admit/believe.
With quite a few modern cars, too many people get hung up over who owns the company, where they're made, what the platform is, what ancillary parts are used here and there, etc., etc.
I agree with the above poster, having driven a Flying Spur recently, they're a stunning car, effortless yet massively fast and yet yes, characterful, despite what some say.
As values fall, they are becoming a serious bargain and well worth a look.
I may do just that sooner rather than later.

The Brooklands is nice (as is the Azure), but I prefer something a little more sporting - the bigger Bentleys don't really do it for me as I have other cars that fulfill the 'big' function. Whilst the Continental GT has a little bit of an image problem, I find it hard to fault it - probably the most 'complete' car package I've owned. Also a superb (ongoing) dealership experience.
As I've remarked before, the GT shames Aston in price/quality. Just a shame it's not as achingly beautiful as the Vanquish was..!
Really interested, but just wonder if ride height and rims will spoil the Speed 6 ride and ground clearance, even with ride height selector offering two height option. Anyone no how much lower? What effect softness of ride, I use the soft setting on my GT almost entirely, but like the facelift and extra grunt.

Ride height reduced by 10mm at the front and 15mm at the rear. I'm off to Spain on Monday to drive it for myself, so will report back with my findings. A colleague has already been out there and reckons it's a massive improvement over the standard car, but we'll see...I haven't received mine yet - the only review I've seen so far didn't say it was a huge leap forward..
What I did receive today was an amusing reply to an email I just sent my wife.
ME: 'I've just picked up a charge of £400 from ABC Gallery on my credit card - do you know who they are?'
HER: 'Yes, it's the birthday present I bought you.'
I didn't know what if I should respond with 'How generous of me' or be rather Bentley about it and say nothing.

My latest copy of 'Look how incredibly poor you are' (aka the official Bentley Motors magazine) came through the letter box today, with a feature on the new Speed GT. It looks fantastic, and the new wheels are very nice too.
Feeling poor this week was watching not one but two guys in their late 20s or early 30s walk out of a shop on Avenue Montaigne, Paris and board their Porsche Carrera GT supercars. There again, i suppose they are only a third of a million quid each!
