At the request of the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts club which this year is commemorating the 100th anniversary of Charles Rolls winning the 1906 Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man

RALLY TO ROLL BACK THE YEARS
A CENTENARY rally is set to take place next week to celebrate a famous victory by Rolls Royce at the 1906 Tourist Trophy car races.
C .S. Rolls stormed to victory with a crushing demonstration of the performance and reliability of his car just a year after his attempt had ended in failure when he stripped his gearbox descending Bray Hill.

The Rolls Royce Enthusiasts' Club will be holding the rally from September 26 to October 1 and more than 50 cars will participate, from a 1906 20HP to a 2006 Phantom.

Chrissie Parkes, secretary of the club, said: 'This will be a superb event and will provide a great deal of interest, not only to the rally participants arriving from Sweden, Austria, Germany and the USA plus the UK, but also the Island as a whole.'

The 1906 race will be re-created – on the exact anniversary, Wednesday, September 27 at 10am – with a cavalcade of the cars leaving the original start at Woodlands, Alexander Drive, following the 1906 TT course to Peel, through to Kirk Michael, Sulby, Ballaugh, Ramsey and over the mountain to the Grandstand.

The Mountain Course is the oldest competed on motor racing course in the world.
