All:
This is my first posting. You seem an amiable and knowlegable bunch. Happy to be here. Hopefully I can return the favor.
I am attempting to install an Alpine Nav system CVN-N851A w/ CVA-1004 head unit into my 1990 Bentley Mulsanne S. I need to locate the VSS speed lead, reverse lamp lead, parking brake lead, and foot brake lead in order to install both the Nav and Head units. Alpine claims to have the needed info but will not advise non dealers. My CD tech manual for the car is of no use. Can you advise on where to find the info required? It's hard to be a D.I.Y. guy sometimes, particularly for the Crewe inclined.
Thanks and regards

Jeez, that's a tough one BB, wouldnt even know where to start or who to recommend. I dont suppose you have many specialists in the US, outside of the official dealer network. But I wouldnt have thought it beyond the capabilities of any good ICE man and some freindly advice from a dealers mechanic, if it is forthcoming gratis for an enthusiast.
I would usually say give Simon or Stuart a call at Phantom Motor Cars here in the UK, but I know they subcontract their ICE fitting out.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
My experience with the RR/Bentley dealers here in Newport Beach has been disappointing at best. During the inevitable steering rack replacement, the were hopeless in locating parts or providing tech assist. I suppose the scenario of shade tree mechanics doing their own work on the Crewe-mobiles sort of threw them. The most simple questions posed to mechanics and parts men is usually met with some head scratching and an apologetic, "Dunno". One of the main reasons I want to do this myself, other that the fact that I'm an inveterate tinkerer who collects all sorts of Brit cars and motorcycles, is that I do not want some 19 year old in the back of some stereo shop cutting and slashing wires behind the fascia, then returning the car, mortally wounded, and sending me to the dealer, "No charge". I know I can eventually get wire colours from the end component, save the VSS, and track it back, but what a pain in the arse.
I am hoping to hear from Mark 'DETRIOTBRIT' as he mention in his thread about 'TACHO WIRING' that he installed a NAV system in his Turbo R. I was unable to send a private message during the 24 hour period post joining.
So, thanks again. It is good to know that there are other venues beyond the RROC for tech info and good natured give and take.
