hello to all the rolls & bentley owners in here, just out of interest what car wax are you gents using as i see no mention of Zymol in here, let me know but please also feel free to question me about Zymol

Well, BG is currently having a concours standard respray. I hate to think what the bodyshop will be flatting and polishing it with initially. As soon as he gets home, and the paint has had a few weeks to settle in, I will want to be giving it the full works.

Any advice greatly appreciated, as I am not too sure what to do with a newly painted car.

I use 3M usually on my silver grey Brooklands, I am more than willing to give Zymol a go on my red Ferrari if there is any going for free

Sorry gents no products going free but the advice always will be, i have being using Zymol for 10 years now with many concours trophies from Porsche under my belt and was also appointed instructor of detailers for Zymol uk last year so you will be safe with the information i give.

check out the various sites out there www.zdouk.com they will give you all the rundown of the products but if you do need a hand applying them or even if you wish for me to do it for you please just contact me, i can guarantee you will not acheive the level of protection and finish from any other waxes and even more importantly its totally natural

Hi there Balmoral Green, now there is a colour which looks fantastic!. with regards to waxing your car once the paintwork has been completed i would leave it for 10 days to totally harden and then start the process. you will 1st need to klay the car which will remove any form of overspray or impurities which may have been missed. 2 nd stage hd cleanse the paint to acheive a totally swirl free finish and flat feel. then finally the wax, using a hand crafted wax from Zymol will add a coat of carnauba at least 37% stronger than other products on the market, some of the above sounds complecated but the results are outstanding and make life so much easier in the long run with any future paint maintainence.

Hi Glyn,

I've been having a mooch around the Zymol website, am I on the right track with the following?

1/ Wash & leather car (with what? auto bathe?)

2/ Clay the car (I have a new unopened Meguiars Quik Clay pack with Quik detailer mist spray, presumably clay is generic so it doesnt really matter if its not Zymol Lehm-Klay?)

3/ HD cleanse the car

4/ Wax, was thinking of using Zymol Concours glaze and sticking with it, re-applying every two months or so.

i have never used the meguirs quick klay as i steer away from chemical/solvent products but i am told it does not last very long although another detailer i have just checked with says it is ok to do just one car.
you are correct with all the other stages and especially the concours wax this is the best value for money wax available, dont be too put off by the price you will get approx 40 applications from 1 pot.

It's like a big lump of plasticine, but made of clay. You handle it a bit in your warm hands, then you fold it over on itself several times and you end up with a patty of the stuff. You wet the panels of the car with a mist gun, then you wipe the paintwork with the clay bar, it sort of scrapes/scours the surface, but without doing any damage, it lifts off all sorts of crap which stays in the clay. You need to keep folding the clay as you go, so that the crap gets held in the middle of the lump. well pointed out, i can tell you a test that will open yours eyes and also tell you wether your car needs the klay treatment.
simply remove the cellophane wrapper from a cigar or cigarette packet and insert 2 fingers into it. (make sure car has been washed recently)
and with your fingers still inside the cellophane gently wipe your paints surface (fingerprint side) and if it feels like a piece of silk with no minor imperfections then email me as you are one of a very small minority.
you are more likely to feel the paint surface like sandpaper, if so your car needs preparing correctly and even more important with the correct products.

Nearly got busted good & proper, package arrived this morning, opened it up on the lounge carpet, wifey nearly saw the invoice but I managed to grab it and tell her to mind her own before she saw it

First time on this Forum. Have been over with the Ultimas for years, but now that I just bought a 1980 Corniche, we hope to pick up some tips.
Re Zymol products, when using them on my red 348ts, I honestly found that the most impressive results I get are when I use the HD Cleanse. After application as instructed, when wiping it off, I use a a very light mist of water to help removal. Paint actually looks new. Then I found a light coat of any wax will work.
I used the same product on my red Ultima which has a Gel-coat finish. Helped that too.

I've just spent 5 days at Crewe doing the Chauffeur course.

Their view on expensive car waxes was comically funny. Autoglym seems to be the factory recommendation.

Funny you should say that, i've been using autoglym for years and years, switched to Meguiars recently, much better than the autoglym. Will be using Zymol when I get BG back, and doing it properly, clay, HD cleanse, wax.

I gave my Conti the Zymol treatment about 10 days ago. Absolutely brilliant and now so much easier to wash.
