As title. I already had it fail on my 2020 RS6.

I gather Porsche didn't use it on the Panamera 4.0 V8 (petrol). Did Bentley use it on either the 4.0 V8 or 6.0 W12?

This is a very interesting topic.
I have the Gen 1 W12 which requires the engine out for a starter motor change and for many other items to be replaced.
I have seen a 12v Starter/generators advertised. One is by Valeo iStARS. Described as a 12v belt starter generator.
If this could be made to fit the w12 engine it would reduce some anxiety when driving deep into the EU on holiday. Has any one ever felt the same way?

If you are asking if the 2018 gen 3 w12 got a starter gen , then no. The starter motor is actually fitted in the 8 speed transmission as the gen 3 does not use a trans axle gear box but a more conventional type. This allows for relatively (by Bentley standards) an easy removal.
