Is this a Hooper body?
Discussion
Thanks Tarquin, I never thought to do a google search(it’s age, you know)
The finish was absolutely superb, and only the owners niece was around, but she didn’t know much about it.
Its outside a row of terraced houses, and during holiday season there has usually been a Chinese Eye Cloud III convertible and/or Continental GTC, each in burgundy with matching soft tops.
Never managed to speak to the owner, despite seeing the Cloud outside my local

Google ; it's from one of my old books
Here's another shot of a Hooper-bodied late-50's S1, from a different angle, with yet another rear wheelarch treatment.
I do like a Chinese Eye Silver Cloud III (can we still them that in this day-and-age? )
Actually, although it looks very similar to the Hooper Empress, this is in fact a rare Freestone & Webb Sports Saloon. The designers in the day were ‘strongly influenced’ by each other’s designs. Here's another shot of a Hooper-bodied late-50's S1, from a different angle, with yet another rear wheelarch treatment.

I'm not disputing what you say as I don't know that particular car but it is listed in one of my (old) reference books as Hooper-bodied. However, if it isn't, it wouldn't be the first time that a printed reference was wrong.Gassing Station | Bentley & Rolls Royce | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
