2014 Conti GT V8S - brakes and steering
Discussion
Just took delivery of one.

Just had a very quick first drive and I have 2 things I’d like to check:
1) brakes: they feel seriously spongy and underperforming, the pedal almost needs to go to the floor to have proper stopping power. I was told brakes and pads are at 50%. Is it a case of “they all do that Sir”, or should the brakes feel stronger than that?
2) steering: very light and vague, again is that that or is there something that can be done to have a bit more pointiness, perhaps alignment or can the assistance settings be tweaked?
Thanks for listening!

No the brakes are one of the most powerful features on the car and should be pretty firm ....
Air in the brake lines , brake booster leaking or seriously old brake fluid with a high water content would be my top 3 guesses .Lastly damaged leaking brake lines is also possible.
Re the steering PowerFlex did a Poly bushings kit for the GT that could improve the feel side of things but to be fair all GT steering is light doesnt have any feel or feedback so might be stuck with that . Next time some clunks start on the front end change the bushes out for the Poweflex ones. Hope that helps

Yes absolutely... also check they haven't done the old thin worn out brake dics - newer pads routine which kids you in to thinking all is good when the discs are in fact much less than their minimum thickness ... So get the micrometer out and measure the disc thickness and look for a large lip on the outer edge of the discs ... have a good rummage .
Few more questions as a Bentley noob, if I may!
Is there a way to program the folding mirrors so that they automatically fold when locking the car?
Has anyone done a Apple CarPlay retrofit? Is it completely concealed and wireless? Works well and does not cause any (electronic) bugs elsewhere?
What is Bentley's attitude re: warranty if they were to find out an aftermarket Apple Carplay was fitted?
