2007 Bentley Continental GT - boot closing issue
Discussion
Hi there,
Took the car in for a valet and although he opened the power boot with the interior button he decided to close it by pushing it down. The motor took over to close it, but the lid stopped a couple of mm short and then re-opened.
I closed it with the interior button and put my hand on the off side corner by the hinge as it finished closing and it closed fine.
However, since then the problem remains ie push button to close, stops 3mm from the end of the closing cycle and opens again.
I've looked on the forum for advice and have tried pushing the winged boot button a few inches above the end of the closing cycle, which works, but when I open the boot again it still stops short of closing and re-opens.
Any solutions, besides not using that valet again??!!!

Dude this is such a common problem and so difficult to solve other than by replacing the motors which are on a production back log from Bentley of some years apparently , so i wish you well with this maybe maybe eBay for the motors. So glad I don't own a w12 gtc any more I adored the way it was built and made you feel but fk me !!! they are endless fking trouble .
I was very fortunate that when I owned a 2008 Conti GT the motor was removed, disassembled and re-lubricated/generally cleaned up by the workshop and I never had another problem in two and a half years.
That's not always possible of course and I just checked that you can get a new motor (dependent on chassis number) for around 1400 incl VAT from Flying Spare......at least that's what is advertised. You may find they are out of stock now as they are as rare as hens teeth. Worth giving them a call.
That is, of course, if you really do need a motor. I've had hinge problems on another GT that I owned and that was a cure for that one.
Good luck with resolving the problem.
