I realise that it will only do about 12mpg, but that aside, what big bills is a 1982 Silver Spirit likely to throw up?
I fancy the idea of running one for 12months and don't mind taking a bit of a hit, but how difficult are they to sell?

Potentially enormous bills and very difficult to sell, even at low money
Only an idiot would do it.

So therefore you have to give it a go. Only an idiot would not scratch this itch once they have it.

There is a chap down the road who smokes around in knackered looking Bentley Eight of a similar vintage and I always think it looks great.

Take a look at Harry’s Garage - he has a RR white bought I think £4K unseen off eBay took it to the artic circle and is currently giving it a refresh on the metal work.

I have smoked around various less than pristine Bentleys and Rolls Royces for the last 25 years. It’s all about buying something half decent with some history and then finding a garage who have bit of skill and knowledge who will be sensible about looking after it. There are loads of second hand parts available.

Just avoid the ones with lots of rust which is a lot of them. Get a sensibly priced one and what you spend on looking after it will be offset but minimal depreciation.Go for it and enjoy!!
