Hi Gentleman,

I'm toying with the idea of purchasing a Continental GT SuperSports but my budget is around 40-55K, the ones I've seen on Autotrader and Pistonheads at this money always seem to be sold by independent garages that specialize in high end used sports and luxury cars, would this put you off? I would be getting the car pre purchase inspected by someone reputable before pulling the trigger on the purchase. I've done some general reading around the maintenance of a regular GT / Speed, do the SuperSports tend to be around the same ballpark in terms of maintenance?

I've been driving a Porsche Cayman S for the last 8 years i presume the maintenance would be around 2-3x more expensive than a mid level Porsche?

Is there any common problems these have?
Would you only purchase from a dealer with a warranty package thrown in?

Very interested to hear from Supersports (or GT / GT Speed) owners that have real life experience daily driving these sort of carssmile

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Just swapped my 2008 Speed for a 2011 Supersports that I bought through a private contact.

Bentley are the only people I would trust to inspect the car. They inspected mine pre-purchase and then I bought a two year warranty for peace of mind. If you are buying prior to 2011 they will not warranty the car. Mine was right on the cusp so I did two years for peace of mind.

Servicing costs are broadly similar to a Conti. Bank on £2000 for a major and £1000 for a minor in the real World at a main dealer.

If they are looked after and well serviced then nothing should go wrong. They are heavy on battery use and lots of electrical niggles might be down to a low battery. They must be trickle charged if not used weekly.

The Supersports drives completely differently to even a GT Speed. It's a beautiful car to drive. It's the W12 that's closest to the V8 in handling terms. The gear changes are also much more "sporty" and ride stiffer. It feels much quicker and lighter even though on paper there's not much difference. Wish I'd swapped years ago.
