Arnage in shipping container
Discussion
Morning all,
I’m hoping to buy my first Bentley Arnage soon, as a second car, but i can not park it at home due to reduced access.
I was thinking of renting a shipping container, 18’ x 8’, in a secure unit.
Has anyone had experience of this , will the car fit and the driver door open sufficiently to get out ( medium sized guy) ?
I will be using the car once or twice a week .
Thanks for reading .

you tend to get a high moisture content in containers in my experience, so it is a NO from me
What nonsense. I've got 60 of them as a mix of personal storage and self store and I have zero hassle with damp or moisture.Obviously if you park a wet car in one and its a sunny day then yes, you will get condensation but a bit of common sense is all that is needed.
The boxes themselves are dry if they have good seals and are not rusty and are not dropped sat in a puddle.
As for size, I park a variety of cars in them, I suggest that you try your car in one. You may need to make sure its parked slightly over to the passengers side so you maximise your chances of getting out the door, more so with two door cars as the doors are longer!
A standard 20ft container will be what you need to look at.
Edit to add, you will need a pair of nice aluminium ramps to get it in and out, suggest ones around 1.5m long so it's a gentle slope. This depends on if the container is on the floor or up on small spacer blocks to allow airflow under the container.

When I lived I rugby my friend Ron was a big Austin 7 collector.
Lovely little car, really neat restoration.
