Had the bentley in the carcoon for several months,on trickle charger and snug as a bug. Decided to check it over and give it a run out and to my dismay won't start completely dead
. Showing ignition failure on dash. Managed to eventually gain access to the boot and main battery completely dead so replaced . The other battery showing a good charge. Still showing fault on dash as ignition failure and not turning over.
Before storing in December drivers side keyless entry stopped working ,passenger sideways still operable, so not sure if kessey system packed up and it is related to the problem ???
Anyone with advice ,experience. Knowledge . Any advice appreciated.
Not wanting to take it anywhere and have my pants pulled down until I had received advice from you guys.
It's a 2005 bentley continental.

Can't help directly but where are you based?

In Essex there is Dean Jaggard and in Bolton, Lancs there is John Bowling (Bowlng-Ryan). Both are RR/Bentley specialists and both are good to get to know. Maybe give one of them a call - easily found on Google...

There is a guy on one of the Bentley FB groups that has a similar problem. If not you, then you are not alone.

Have you tried doing what it says in the handbook? Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the left. You might hear a click as the secondary service baterry is engaged. Press the button and it should start.

Before it went in , the KESSY issue sounds ominous.
Is there a chance the KESSY box under the passenger foot well could have got wet ?
How conscientious are you at maintaining the scuttle drain ?

Cheers chaps, based in South Manchester ,,always requested drain plugs ect to be checked and cleaned when serviced. Passenger side front carpet showing signs of previous damp so suspecting water penetration .
How easy is it to access the kessey system ,any special tools required.I believe their are companies that repair them?If replaced does the key require reprogramming?
Once again your help and advice is much appreciated

Ryan bowling very helpful and put me in touch with a guy who works mobile nationwide and sounds promising ,all being well £360 to install new unit and reprogrammed keys. Trying to source a unit for myself without overpaying so sounds a legit. Guy.
Will post updates in the hope may assist anyone else in need.Bentley stealership not particularly helpful in these matters
